Overview

StudyLink SA is looking for passionate, community-focused individuals to help us take university application support directly to learners on the ground.

Many prospective students want to continue their education but struggle to identify suitable qualifications, understand admission requirements, prepare supporting documents or complete applications at different institutions. Others may never encounter the online information and campaigns created to assist them.

As a Student Access Representative, you will connect these learners with StudyLink SA, personally sign them up and help them begin their journey into higher education.

Who We Are

StudyLink SA is an independent educational support platform that helps South African learners understand higher-education opportunities and navigate the university application process with greater confidence.

We help learners explore suitable qualifications, identify appropriate institutions, prepare the required information and pursue relevant funding opportunities. Our purpose is to make university application guidance more accessible, especially to learners who may not have reliable access to informed support.

What We Do

StudyLink SA reviews each learner’s academic information, subjects, results, study interests and preferred institutions. We use this information to determine whether we can assist and to help learners pursue opportunities that are reasonably aligned with their academic profiles.

Where we can assist, we prepare and submit applications on the learner’s behalf through the relevant official institutional systems. We also guide learners on supporting documents, application updates and potentially suitable funding opportunities.

Why We Need Representatives

StudyLink SA currently reaches learners through online campaigns. While this allows us to reach many prospective students, online advertising often reaches people who already have internet access, sufficient data and some knowledge of universities, qualifications and funding opportunities.

The learners who need the most support may have limited access to online information, share devices with family members, lack data or have difficulty navigating university application systems independently.

We are therefore appointing Student Access Representatives to take our service into communities through direct, physical learner engagement.

Representatives will help us reach learners who may have missed our online campaigns and provide the personal guidance needed to help them take the first step.

Your Role as a Representative

As a Student Access Representative, you will:

  • Identify prospective university applicants within your community;

  • Introduce learners to StudyLink SA;

  • Explain how the service works;

  • Engage learners physically and answer basic questions;

  • Personally complete initial learner sign-ups;

  • Ensure learner information is captured accurately;

  • Inform learners when StudyLink SA provides feedback;

  • Encourage qualifying learners to conclude their applications;

  • Assist learners in supplying supporting documents;

  • Follow up on incomplete registrations;

  • Maintain accurate activity records;

  • Protect learners’ personal information; and

  • Help learners remain engaged throughout the application process.

Representatives must personally register learners using their assigned sign-up links. Registration links may not be handed to learners, posted publicly or used for online-only sign-ups.

Community-Based Outreach

Representatives are not required to obtain access to schools or travel long distances. They should focus on learners within communities and locations that are reasonably accessible to them.

Learners may be reached through:

  • After-school study programmes;

  • Community and youth centres;

  • Public libraries;

  • Churches and youth groups;

  • Matric study groups;

  • Sports and community events;

  • Family and personal networks; and

  • Other appropriate community spaces.

Online communication may be used to arrange meetings and follow up with learners, but the initial engagement and sign-up must be conducted personally.

Benefits of Becoming a Representative

Appointed Representatives may receive total remuneration of up to R10 500* during the initial programme period.

This consists of:

R5 000 One-Time Base Payment

A once-off base payment for active participation in the initial learner sign-up campaign, subject to compliance with the programme requirements.

Up to R500 in Data Reimbursement

Representatives receive R5 for every verified initial learner sign-up, up to a maximum of R500 for 100 learners.

Additional benefits include:

  • Free programme training;

  • Practical learner-engagement experience;

  • Ongoing guidance and operational support;

  • Flexible community-based activities;

  • An opportunity to contribute to youth development;

  • Experience in education outreach and digital registration; and

  • Possible consideration for a separate remote-working opportunity after the initial campaign.

* The maximum remuneration is based on 100 verified learner sign-ups and 100 concluded learner applications. All records are subject to verification.
